Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use Game460 games and services (“Services”). By using our Services, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Scope and who we are
This policy applies to the Game460 chess platform (including Classic Chess, Reveal Chess, and Flip Chess), our websites, and any related support or account services. The data controller is the entity operating the Game460 service in your region. For contact details, see the “Contact” section at the end.
Information we collect
We collect: (1) Account and profile data — email address, nickname, avatar, password (stored in hashed form), and optional profile fields you provide; (2) Game and usage data — game records (moves, results, replays), match history, in-game currency (gold/diamonds), purchase history, and technical data such as device type, OS version, and in-game events used to operate and improve the service; (3) Support and communications — messages you send to support and any information you provide when reporting issues. We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their marketing.
Legal basis (where applicable)
Where required by law (e.g. in the EEA/UK), we process your data on the basis of: performance of our contract with you (providing the game and services), your consent (where we ask for it explicitly), our legitimate interests (e.g. security, fraud prevention, analytics to improve the product), or compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent where it applies without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
How we use your information
We use the data to: operate the games (matchmaking, game logic, saving progress); manage your account and authenticate you; process in-app purchases and deliver purchased content; prevent cheating, abuse, and fraud; provide customer support; send important service-related notices (e.g. security or policy changes) where necessary; and analyse aggregated, non-personally-identifying usage patterns to improve gameplay, stability, and features. We may use automated systems to detect violations of our terms or fraud; such decisions may be reviewed by staff on request.
Sharing and third parties
We may share data with: (1) Service providers — hosting, database, analytics, payment processors, and support tools. They process data on our instructions and are bound by contracts that require appropriate security and confidentiality. (2) Stores — when you make in-app purchases, the relevant store (Apple, Google, Valve, etc.) processes payment and may receive transaction-related data per their policies. (3) Legal and safety — we may disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of assets (with notice where required). We do not sell or rent your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.
Data retention
We retain account and game data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services and comply with legal obligations. After you delete your account or request erasure, we will remove or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. Aggregated or anonymised statistics may be retained indefinitely.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where technically feasible.
- Object or restrict — object to certain processing or request restriction in specific situations.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
- Complain — lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country.
To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@game460.com with your account ID and a clear description of your request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (e.g. one month under GDPR).
Children
Our Services are not directed at children under the age required for valid consent in their country (e.g. under 13 in the US, or higher where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal data from such children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us at privacy@game460.com and we will take steps to delete it.
International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions) where required by law so that your data receives an adequate level of protection.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes that affect how we use your data, we may notify you via email or an in-game notice. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
